Mrs. Buzzzz, here. I hear that more information about the poster contest is wanted. I find a lot of info on the internet. Google “recycling” or “environment” and you will find thousands of ideas.
I found the following information on just two sites when I Googled “plastic recycling”. There is probably too much information for just one poster, but this is what I think can be done with this information: (http://www.thedailygreen.com/green-homes/latest/recycling-symbols-plastics-460321)
Pick one symbol and tell us about it. List the items that are made out of this plastic and then the items that are made out of this plastic after it is recycled. Show pictures of these items.

Or take one item- Have a picture of a plastic drink bottle and show pictures of all the different items that are made out of it after it is recycled.

Or maybe you have a group of friends, or a club. Each person could take one of the symbols and make a poster for it. When you come to fair, have them displayed as a group so all the information is available to our visitors. I’m sure we will have special group prizes available, too.

And plastic is just a small part of recycling. Pick paper or cardboard to illustrate. Or tell us of other items that we can recycle.
