Partnership Manager Position Available

The Linn County Fair Association is seeking a Partnership Manager to oversee the Linn County Fair’s Partnership program.

Job Specifications

  • Prior fair or event planning experience
  • Quick learner
  • Ability to attend all monthly The Linn County Fair Association board meetings, held on the 2nd Tuesday of each month
  • Flexible schedule with availability to work some weekends
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work a minimum of 20 hours per week
  • A four (4) year degree or equivalent work experience
  • Detail oriented individual
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs
  • Basic computer skills
  • Will need your own computer (preferably a lap top)

Partnership Manager Job Description: 

Partnership Responsibilities

  • Secure and manage all partnerships (new and renewal partnerships)
    • Providing lists, information and handouts for the partnership program
    • Tracking all partnerships in SalesForce
    • Communicate to the Website Manager and Marketing Manager which partner partnerships need to be included on the website and in all advertising
    • Encourage Fair Association members to sell partnerships and train them if necessary on the partnership packages available and how to present to a potential partner
    • Provide a monthly report to the board on partnership process
    • Create and oversee distribution of the “Proud Partner” certificate for all partners
    • Responsible for organizing and the distribution of partnership packets
      • Distribution partnership packets no later than May 15th to all paid partners or to association members that sold the partnership with the completion of all finalized packets by June 1st
  • To work with the Marketing Manager on putting together posters, flyers, etc.; making sure all partners are mentioned for what they partnered, including correct logos and spelling
  • In charge of managing and putting together the partner appreciation invite to BBQ and all necessary “Thank Yous”
  • In charge of partnership signs and banners located on fair grounds. Including but not limited to:
    • Making sure all partnership signs/banners are cleaned and in place prior to fair
      • This includes putting up and taking down during the fair
      • This also includes grandstand signs for each grandstand event placed up in front of the grandstand for their event
    • Placing all vinyl banner signs necessary in front of exhibits throughout the fairgrounds
    • Work with the ticket office manager to make sure all partnership flyers are posted on ticket booth windows, ticket scanner podium and inside the grandstand for that partner’s event
    • Having banners ready and in place for events that banners are sold for (ex. Chuck Wagon Races), in accordance with their partnership agreement
    • Making sure the list of partners is displayed during the fair on the fair kiosk
    • In charge of making sure all partnership signs and banners are cleaned and are stored in the fall to protect against theft and/or weather damage
    • Complete an inventory of all signage and report any damage the fairboard
  • On site fair week duties include but are not limited to:
    • Attend all morning board meetings held during the week
    • Attend all grandstand events
    • Attend non-grandstand events to view for future partnership ideas and event suggestions
    • Make sure partner signs are put up each day on fairgrounds as needed (ex. grandstand, golf carts, kiosk, exhibit area, etc.)
    • Provide a script for the announcer for each event with partners listed
    • Serve as fair host to all current and potential fair partners
      • Give partners contact information so they can call when they arrive at the fair
      • Greet all partners at the fair BBQ
      • Provide tours to partners as needed
      • Determine how partners would like to be recognized at their event

Internal/External Cooperation

  • Attend community events to promote the fair/fairgrounds/network
  • Maintain professional internal and external relationships that are in accordance with the Linn County Fair Association policies and by-laws, code of conduct, conflict of interest policy and social media policy.
