On August 9, 2016 JaLea Horning and the Linn County 4-H Beef Committee presented a check to The Linn County Fair Association in the amount of $13,241.70 to go towards electrical improvements for the beef barn on the fairgrounds. Miss Horning had donated the proceeds of her steer in the 4-H/FFA Livestock Auction that was held on June 27th at The Linn County Fair in Central City. Initial money raised as of July 1st from the auction was $9,855. Additional money was donated by others to bring the total of what was presented to the Linn County Fair Association.
The Beef Committee will be working with The Linn County Fair Association on the project. Depending on what funds are left after the initial electrical project, additional money will be used for additional projects needed in the beef barn from a face list to possibly addition to the barn for more tie outs. Additional projects will be determine with joint partnership between the Beef Committee and Association.
Donations can still be accepted for the Beef Barn project by mailing them to The Linn County Fair Association c/o Beef Barn Project, PO Box 329, Central City, IA 52214. Any questions concerning the Beef Barn Project should be sent to Linn County Fair Office Manager, Deb Zumbach at email@example.com.
Thank you again to JaLea Horning, the Beef Committee and the many donors that have donated to the Beef Barn Project at The Linn County Fairgrounds!
