Cowboy Boots & Country Roots – Linn County Fair 2016 Queen Candidates

The Linn County Fair Association is proud to announce the 2016 Linn County Fair Queen candidates:

Makenna Blackford

Makenna Blackford is the daughter of Scott and Dawn Blackford of Marion. Makenna will be a Junior at Alburnett High School this fall. Makenna’s future plans are to attend Iowa State University

Mikayla Bowen

Mikayla Bowen is the daughter of Rob and Kim Bowen of Center Point. Mikayla will be a Senior and Center Point High School this fall. Mikayla’s future plans are to attend University of Wisconsin Platteville to major in Criminalistics.

Jessica Etten

Jessica K. Etten from Praririeburg. She is the daughter of Sandra & Brian Meyer and the late Russell Etten. Jessica will be attending Kirkwood in the fall and pursing her passion for nursing. She plans on receiving her RN and then continuing on to get her BSN and a university.

Kylie Mysak

Kylie Mysak is the daughter of Kent and Tammy Mysak of Springville. Kylie will be a Senior this fall at Springville High School. Kylie’s future plans are to attend Iowa State University and study Veterinary Science.

Rachel Zumbach

Rachel Zumbach is the daughter of Louie and Deb Zumbach of Coggon. Rachel will be a senior next year at North Linn High School. Rachel plans to attend a four year university and is undecided on a major at this point.

The reigning 2015 Linn County Fair Queen, Sierra Dougherty and Princess, Sara-Anne Kettelkamp will be handing off their titles at The 2016 Linn County Fair during the opening ceremonies on June 22nd.

The 2015 Linn County Fair Queen is Sierra Dougherty is the daughter of Mike and Tammy Dougherty of Coggon. Sierra will be a senior at North Linn High School this fall. Sierra’s future plans are to go to UNI or Iowa State and major in Nutrition.

The 2015 Linn County Fair Princess is Sara-Anne Kettelkamp is the daughter of Robert and Cindy Kettelkamp of Marion. Sara-Anne will be attending Kirkwood this fall. Sara-Anne hopes to pursue a career in Agriculture or become a large animal veterinarian..

The judging for the contest was on June 5th at the Linn County Fairgrounds in the Lynn Dunn Memorial Building. Public is welcome to join us around 6:00 for light refreshments and snacks to meet the candidates.

The coronation will be Wednesday June 22nd at 6 p.m. at the Linn County Fairgrounds, in the grandstand.
