2012 Results – 4-H Communications

The Linn County Fair 4-H Communications competition was held on June  28, and June 29 at the Linn County Fairgrounds.  Winners will represent Linn County at the Iowa State Fair in August.

Educational Presentation winners:

One Junior entry will represent Linn County.

Junior —  Amanda Dragon, Mt. Vernon –“Foot, Hand, Way”

One Intermediate Entry will go to the Iowa State Fair.

Intermediate – Will Dragon, Mt. Vernon, “Geocaching”

Four entries in the Senior level competition will represent Linn County.

Senior – Cory Brannaman, Mt. Vernon –“The Benefits of Playing an Instrument”

Senior – Paul Elliott, Anamosa – “Tortilla Time”

Senior—Katie Hamilton, Cedar Rapids “Daisy, Future Leader Dog”

Senior  — Sarah Goettler, Central City “Phear, Phactor: Phobias”

Working Exhibit winners are:

Junior – Andrew Bowen, Center Point and Matthew Niec, Center Point – “Green Slime”

Junior – Patrick Hanson, Marion  “Salt Art”

Junior – Alexa Gormley, Marion – “Frame It”

Senior –Paul Elliott, Anamosa – “Pop It”

Extemporaneous Speaking winners are:

Tymbrie Snobl, Central City

Paul Elliott, Anamosaw

 4-H, the youth component of the Iowa State University Extension, offers opportunities to choose from among fifty different project areas. The 4-H program is open to all youth kindergarten through 12th grade.
