On Saturday, June 30, four teams competed in the first ever Kid’s Cookin’ event at the Linn County Fair. The participants practiced several different recipes before Fair, then at the event were to prepare one of the recipes on site. The contest was patterned after the “Cook This” event at the Iowa State Fair.
Those participating were:
Junior Team – “Seriously Try It” – Mikayla Nachazel, Central City; Rylee Menster, Springville; Aylssa Jaeger, Marion. – Blue
Intermediate Team – “Linn Electric Cooks” – Eva Dolan, Cedar Rapids; Aunna Tyler, Marion; Emilee Bean, Center Point. – Blue
Senior Team – “Double Yum, Yum, Yum” — Courtney Clemens, Alburnett; Samantha Ross, Marion; Morgan Novak, Cedar Rapids. – Blue
Senior Team – “The Three Chefkateers” – Jennifer Zingula, Central City; Nicole Larsen, Marion; Chase Grabau, Robins. — Blue
