Are you are a backyard gourmet or a “King of the Coals”? Do you impress all your friends and neighbors with your expertise at grilling the perfect steak or burger? Then you should enter the Amateur Grilling Competition sponsored by Grill Works of Marion. The contest will be held at the Linn County Fair in Central City on Sunday, July 1, 2012. Here is your chance to pit your skills against other grill enthusiasts to see who can grill up the best “Cowboy Dinner”.
Contestants (individual or team of two) will use their own equipment and supplies to grill a Cowboy Dinner consisting of a beef steak (supplied by the Linn County Fair), a vegetable side dish, and a starch. Judges will award prizes for the Best Tasting and the Best Presentation.
There are no residency restrictions but contestants must be over 18 years of age to compete. The competition is limited to 15 contestants and registration must be submitted by June 15. You can find complete rules and registration forms on the website: http://thelinncountyfair.com/2012/open-classes/2012-amatuer-grilling-contest.pdf.
