The crowds having been “Catching Fair Fever” and enjoying the many activities at the fair. Thursday, July 7, 2011 at The Linn County Fair was a record breaking day.
Thursday of the fair is Youth Day, an opportunity for youth of all ages to come to the fair and enjoy the many free events and activities that are on hand. They get to experience a local county fair like no other. The main Youth Day events run from 9am to 1pm. Many daycares and camps come out in van and bus loads to enjoy the day. This year we broke our record breaking attendance of 1,400 last year by 125% with attendance of about 3,200 for our Youth Day events.
The crowds continued through out the day into the night with another record breaking grandstand crowd of 1,800 for the Saliva concert. Previous record was set back in 2009 with Candlebox concert attendance of 1,700.
By the end of the day the over all fair attendance for Youth Day was also another record attendance to put in the books with a total attendance of the fair at about 7,300. The Linn County Fair is “Red Hot” this year!
We hope for another pleasant day today with more fun free activities for Heritage Day today, plus many 4-H/FFA livestock shows. Then ending the day, John Anderson will perform in the grandstand with local opening band Lonesome Road. This concert we are honoring all military with half off ticket price to the concert when they show their military ID at the grandstand ticket booth today.
We are on our way to make and even break our fair goal attendance of 28,000 this year. Catch Fair Fever “It’s Red Hot!”
