What is one thing you don’t expect to see at a county fair?
Got KOI Fish?
Well, we do. Thanks to Biackal’s Koi Farm in Toddville, there will be a full size tank on display filled with Koi fish. The Koi fish tank will be located outside of the Cock-a-doodle Zoo through out the fair.
(More details on Bickal’s Koi Farm go to: http://www.bickal.com/)
Have you ever wanted to own a koi fish? Here is your chance to win a fish for your very own. There will be a raffle held daily to give away 2 koi fish per day. Raffles will be held Wednesday through Sunday at 8pm and at noon on Monday at the Gate Building. Winners will be contacted via phone and posted at the Gate Building the following day. All winners must pick up their fish on Monday, July 12th between 5pm-7pm or by appointment.
Raffle tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5. They can be purchased at the Gate Building during normal building hours. (Wed- Sun 8am-8pm) All proceeds will go to fair building and grounds improvements. Here is your chance to give back to the fair and own your very own Koi Fish!
So if you can’t find your child at the fair, they are more than likely at the Cock-a-doodle Zoo checking out Koi fish, other animals or playing in the sandbox.
The Cock-a-doodle Zoo has something for “kids” of all ages to experience. Every year you can expect to see one or more of the following animals in the zoo: cows, sheep, pigs, chicken, rabbits, etc. This year you will be able to see a new animal that hasn’t been at the fair before, an elk. Antler Ridge Elk Ranch in Ely is proving an elk so you can see these large beautiful animals in person!
The Cook-a-doodle Zoo is FREE and open daily. We can’t wait to see you there!
