22 days to go…Volunteers needed-Firehouse concert

Every aspect of the Linn County Fair is ran completely by volunteers. The Linn County Fair Association itself consist of all volunteers.  As the fair grows so does the need for more volunteers to help put on an eventful and successful fair. One of the areas that we need volunteers in the grandstand events. The first grandstand event of the fair is the Firehouse concert on Thursday, July 8th at 7pm.

Listed below are the different positions and times that we need to fill for the Firehouse concert:

– Scan pre-paid tickets for the event and direct the people to the area where wristbands will be attached.

  • Hours needed: 6pm-close- 2 volunteer slots open

ATTACHING WRISTBANDS – all ticket holders must have wristbands attached by volunteers. The wristband will allow them to enter and exit the grandstand during the event.

  • Hours needed: 6pm-close- 4 volunteer slots open

GRANDSTAND EXIT MONITORS– all ticket holders will initially enter the grandstand event through the main center entrance. If they wish to leave they must leave by the east (left of main entrance) or the west (right of main entrance). We will need two people at the top of the main entrance to direct those wishing to leave the grandstand before or during the event to the east or west exists.

  • Hours needed: 6pm-close- 1 volunteer slots open

STAGE HANDS- An individual that is able to lift at least 50 lbs is needed to unload and load sound equipment. Individual must be on time and be at least 16 years of age.

  • Hours needed: 8am- for about 2 hours or until no longer needed- 2 volunteer slots open
  • Hours needed: 11pm(following concert)- for about 2 hours or until no longer needed- 2 volunteer slots open

Ticket scanners, wristbanders and monitors are free to enjoy the event after their duties are complete. All volunteers who work a total of four hours or more will be given a T-shirt that has the fair logo on the front and FRIEND OF THE FAIR on the back.
