A day at the fair is a long time summer tradition for many youth and this year isn’t any different. The annual Youth Day at The Linn County Fair is growing every year. This year the annual Youth Day will be on Thursday, July 9th from 9am to 1pm at the fair in Central City. This day is full of different activities and educational booths for kids of all ages. The best thing about Youth Day, all activities are FREE! You can’t beat that!
We invite daycares, camps, families and all youth to come out and enjoy Youth Day with all the different activities going on at the fair. Vans and buses are allowed to drop off kids at the front gate and park at one of the designed parking lots. Groups can bring their sack lunches or purchase their favorite fair food from the different food vendors.
The fair’s theme this year is “Going Green” and The Linn County Fair Association will be handing out reusable bags for kids to carry their different items in during Youth Day. They will be available in the Morton Building while supplies last.
Also, with the support of Roberts Landscaping of Coggon the Linn County Fair Association will be giving away 100 Colorado Blue Spruce trees from the Arbor Day Foundation. Each tree comes in a recyclable tub that can easily be converted to a bird feeder for your backyard (instructions included)
Some of the different activities during Youth Day will include but not limited to fair tours, mini train rides, craft activities, Duffy DeFrance Storyteller, Rockwell Collins Road Show, and Springville United Methodist Church “Step-up Puppets”. There will be plenty of interesting things to see and feel during Youth Day including: Cock-a-doodle Zoo, St. Lukes’ Helicopter, Roberts Dairy “Clarabelle the Cow”, Central City Ambulance, Central City Fire Truck, Baby alligators, CRANDIC Train, and much more.
There will also be different educational and informative booths step up in the Morton Building with different activities at each booth.
